    Course Overview

    Managing Mold Issues for Building Construction Managers is an advanced online safety course composed of three primary modules: Mold Information and Training, Mold Design and Materials and Mold Maintenance Procedures. These three modules are part of the Mold Action Plan training series developed by the attendees of the Mold Action Plan in Construction conference. This course will assist in managing mold in the construction maintenance process, specifically:

    Mold Information and Training

    This module provides mold education in order to help contractors prevent mold claims. It also teaches the basic guidelines, methods and best management practices for mold moisture recognition. Learn the proper evaluation and control techniques for contractors, employees and owners involved in the mold prevention process.

    Mold Design and Materials

    This module informs you of the basic guidelines and methods used for mold design and materials. These guidelines and methods will specifically cover the following areas: selecting consultants and experts, in-house testing and observation, using or not using mock-ups and early start-ups of mechanical systems. All of the considerations provided should assist you in preventing mold growth with respect to mold design and materials.

    Mold Maintenance Procedures

    This module provides basic methods for preventing mold and its growth. You will learn about the occupant’s role as the first line of defense against mold.
