ClickSafety And Construction Industry Alliance For Suicide Prevention Join Forces To Promote Mental Health In The Construction Industry

Burlington, MA, November 1, 2024 -- ClickSafety, a leading online safety training provider, recently announced its donation of $15,000 to the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP). The contribution is the highlight of ClickSafety’s 25th anniversary, celebrating their commitment to the health and safety of those in the construction and general industries.

Funds from the donation have been earmarked for the translation of CIASP’s training, toolbox talks, and other resources into multiple languages, as part of their mission to increase awareness of and address the critical need of suicide prevention within the construction industry.

"ClickSafety is honored to support the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention in their vital mission to help build a safer and healthier environment for workers," said Lindsay Maher, General Manager at ClickSafety. "ClickSafety is an integral part of the industries we serve, supporting safety in all its forms. By helping fund their translations, CIASP will amplify the reach, ensuring all workers have access to the support they need."

The construction industry has the highest rate of deaths by suicide, which is four times greater than the national average, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive suicide prevention support and education within the industry.

"We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from ClickSafety," said Sonya Bohmann, Executive Director of Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. "Suicide is a critical issue in the construction industry, and through our collaboration with ClickSafety, we can now expand our reach and provide our resources to those in need. Translating our materials will help us break through language barriers and ensure that all construction workers have access to the support and education they need to prioritize their mental health."

About Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention

The Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP) was born out of necessity in response to statistics released in a CDC study ranking construction as the #1 industry for deaths by suicide. Established by the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) in 2016 to shatter the stigma surrounding mental health issues, CIASP became a stand-alone 501(c)(3) organization in 2018 to raise awareness about suicide prevention and provide resources and tools to create a zero suicide industry by uniting and supporting the construction community.
