ClickSafety Launches New MSHA Miner Safety Online Courses

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Feb. 16, 2017 – ClickSafety, a leading provider of online safety training for the construction and general industries, today released its online surface mining safety courses, MSHA 4-Hour New Miner Part 1 (Site Entry), and MSHA 8-Hour Mine Safety and Health Refresher. The courses are designed to help meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Part 46 Training Regulations.

The offerings are designed for those who work, or intend to work in surface mining or processing environments, such as sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate or surface limestone mines.

The MSHA 4-hour New Miner Part 1 (Site Entry) course serves as a primer for new or inexperienced miners, and can be used towards meeting new miner training requirements, providing information needed to enter and work on a mine site. The content covers the basics of what to expect in the mining environment, common safety and health hazards, general emergency actions, rights as a miner in regards to safety, and more.

ClickSafety's 8-hour Mine Safety and Health Refresher course is designed to help meet MSHA's annual 8-hour health and safety refresher training requirement as specified in MSHA’s Part 46. This course is relevant for miners, supervisors, managers, mine operators, miners’ representatives, subcontractors and others who require the annual refresher training. It covers work environment basics, emergency medical procedures, health and safety aspects of specific tasks, responsibilities of supervisors, line management and others to maintain a safe environment and more.

Like all ClickSafety offerings, the MSHA courses use a flexible, customizable and interactive "student-centered" e-learning platform designed to ensure learning and retention.  Participants who successfully complete the courses will receive course completion and training record documentation and IACET Continuing Education Units.

"We're very excited to expand our course offerings to encompass surface mining safety," said ClickSafety General Manager, Matt Daniel, "It presents a great opportunity to further our mission of safety in the workplace, regardless of industry. I'm confident that supervisors and workers in surface mining will find the same value and support our existing clients enjoy.
