The OSHA 30-Hour General Industry course from ClickSafety was created by Summit Training Source, an OSHA-authorized training provider. The OSHA 30-Hour General Industry course is designed to take four days to complete and provides an expansive list of safety topics associated with workplace hazards including, but not limited to recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of hazards.

Participants of the OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training can expect that this training features the required steps of completing OSHA Outreach Training. Upon completion, all course participants will receive a certificate of completion right away and earn their Department of Labor (DOL)/OSHA 30-Hour Card shipped within two weeks, and achieving the safety level prescribed by individual employers for work within the General Industry sector.

NOTICE: While OSHA recommends Outreach Training as a general orientation for safety and health, some states may mandate training. Additionally, some employers, unions, and organizations may require this training.

ClickSafety’s OSHA 30-Hour General Industry is a certificate/card-level course that provides a comprehensive overview of all relevant safety and health topics as they pertain to the General Industry sector. Upon successful completion of this course, participants can expect to:

  • Understand what OSHA is, its role, the inspection requirements for recording injuries and illnesses, the rights of employers and employees during inspections, the types of citations and penalties issued by OSHA, and more.
  • Know the role of the supervisor and the importance of the overall company health and safety programs, as well as the need for effective communication.
  • Understand the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and learn why hazard communication is important for all levels of employment.
  • Understand fall protection, fire prevention, electrical safety, the nature of bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent risk and minimize exposure, ergonomics, and more.
  • Know the difference between confined spaces and permit required confined spaces.
  • Know the three elements of a Process Safety Management System (PSM) and how it can help prevent catastrophic incidents when working with and around hazardous chemicals.
  • Know Identify proper machine guarding, as well as how to prevent potential injuries.
  • Know the best practices when working with scaffolding, as well as requirements for erecting, assessing, and dismantling scaffolds. Furthermore, participants will understand hoists, slings, and aerial lifts.
  • Understand the importance of preventative measures and risk mitigation processes as they pertain to heat stress and illnesses.

All course participants must complete the full course to receive a valid U.S. DOL OSHA 30-Hour Card. Participants must achieve a score of 70%. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a course completion certificate. In general, DOL/OSHA 30-Hour Cards arrive within two weeks after completion of your course.
