ClickSafety Launches New Courses, Expands Curriculum to Meet General Industry Safety Training Needs

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Mar. 9, 2017 – ClickSafety, the leading provider of online safety and health training for the construction, general and mining industries, has updated and expanded its comprehensive portfolio of courses for organizations that must comply with OSHA’s General Industry requirements and standards. Over the past 12 months, ClickSafety has launched multiple courses and expanded its curriculum for this key sector, and now offers nearly 100 General Industry courses.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, more than 13 people per day died while doing their General Industry jobs in 2015 and, according to the National Safety Council (NSC), the financial impact of safety incidents in this sector totaled $140 billion. Conversely, according to the NSC, General Industry companies that participate in safety training programs show a 52 percent decrease in number of workers’ comp claims and 87 percent decrease on average lost time per claim.

With an 18-year history of delivering safety and health training to the construction and general industries, ClickSafety is uniquely positioned to serve General Industry sectors such as manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, warehousing, financial, healthcare, education and property management. The expanded General Industry training includes OSHA updates, such as the new Final Rule for Walking and Working Surfaces, as well as other key topics like Ladder Safety, Forklift Operator Certification, Ergonomics, Electrical Protection and Material Handling and Storage.

"There is a clear need for easily-accessible, effective safety and health training for General Industry organizations and workers," said ClickSafety General Manager, Matt Daniel. "We are committed to providing the training resources to help this vital sector meet its safety training and compliance goals."

ClickSafety courses use a flexible, customizable and interactive "student-centered" e-learning platform designed to ensure learning and retention. Participants who successfully complete a course receive completion and training record documentation, and IACET Continuing Education Units.
