The Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification provides a means for employers to verify safety and health knowledge of first-line supervisors and managers. The program requires applicants to meet minimum education and experience requirements and demonstrate knowledge of basic safety and health standards and practices.
The individuals who pursue this program generally work in transportation, utilities and manufacturing. This examination program requires a supervisor to demonstrate his or her understanding of the principles and practices of supervision in the context of safety.
The examination contains 100 questions and candidates have two hours to complete it.
This exam prep reviews hundreds of problems addressing the complete STS examination blueprint in a question-and-answer format complete with fully developed explanations. It targets the principles and theories required to pass the examination.

The STS Exam Prep is intended for individuals who:
Are managers at any level.
Are first line supervisors of work groups or organization units.
Have a safety responsibility for a work group that is part of other work duties.
STS Candidate Requirements
Must have 30 hours of safety, health, and environmental training.
Must have two (2) years supervisory experience; or four (4) years work experience in any industry (work experience must be a minimum part-time [18 hrs/week] to qualify); or an associate degree or higher in occupational safety, risk management, or construction management; or completion of a two (2) year trade or union training program/apprenticeship.

SPAN™ Live Workshop + Online Prep + Workbook is a one-day workshop that includes a workbook, notepad, pencil, pen, highlighter and 12-month access to our online exam prep. This workshop is taught by professional and experienced facilitators.
ClickSafety is dedicated to your professional development and success on the STS exam. Our workshops are guaranteed to help participants achieve certification. Any participant that attempts the exam and is unsuccessful can qualify for the SPAN Live Workshop Guarantee. This is subject only to public workshops and is dependent upon capacity for additional students. A BCSP score report must be submitted to register for a complimentary SPAN Exam Prep workshop. The complimentary workshop must be taken within a year of the original workshop.
SPAN Online Prep is an effective learning tool designed to help distance learners prepare for certification exams offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). You’ll access a wealth of well-researched information specific to each certification examination. SPAN Online Prep courses are developed by Safety Trained Supervisors who are experienced facilitators and exam mentors dedicated to your professional development and certification success on the STS test. This one-year online subscription delivers essential knowledge required to earn your STS certification. It features learning resources that are targeted to certification exam preparation.
SPAN Workbook is proven to reduce your study time by as much as 50%. The STS workbook covers the full spectrum of material that could possibly be tested and contains several self-evaluation exercises using the same question, answer, and explanation format as in the workshop. The material included in the self-evaluation exercises is designed to supplement your home study program and reinforce those areas where emphasis is needed for the STS examination.
Workshops will be held daily from morning to afternoon, with an hour for lunch and periodic breaks. Lodging, travel and meals are not included in workshop registration fee. Each participant is responsible for travel arrangements and accommodations.
To reserve a seat in any workshop, full payment must be received prior to attending the workshop. Class cancellations are subject to a 20% cancellation fee up to 30 days prior to a workshop start date. No refunds will be made within 30 days of the workshop start date.
ClickSafety’s SPAN team reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum number of registrants is not met. You will be notified by email if this occurs and have the option of a full refund or to move your registration to a different workshop. Workbooks Refund Policy
To receive a refund, workbooks must be returned within 30 days and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
The Online Prep is a non-transferable single user license active for 12 months. Additional licenses can be purchased at any time. All sales are final.
