ClickSafety Launches Leading Cultural Change Online Course to Bring Focus on Improving Safety Culture

Walnut Creek, CA, November 20, 2012 – ClickSafety, a leading provider of online safety training, is pleased to announce the launch of Leading Cultural Change, a powerful and empowering course that addresses the importance of improving the safety culture in the construction industry.

This 1-hour course is valuable for anyone who works in the construction industry, from managers to supervisors to workers, and outlines the roles of management and workers in improving the current safety culture within an organization and throughout the industry. The goal of the course is to help individuals understand that safety – and an overall culture of safety – is everyone’s responsibility, including identifying unsafe work practices and recommending or taking actions to improve their safety environment. Topics within the course include today’s culture of safety within construction, the acts and conditions that lead to injuries, the “General Duty Clause” of the OSHA Act of 1970, and how individuals can take leadership in efforts to change a company’s safety culture. In addition, the course covers methods to protect oneself and others from serious injury and death through personal responsibility.

“At Gilbane, a strong culture of safety is foundational to our operations,” said Anthony O’Dea, CSP, CHST, STS, vice president, corporate safety for Gilbane, one of the largest privately-held family-owned real estate development and construction firms in the industry.” We chose ClickSafety and the Leading Cultural Change training to ensure that our employees and contractors are empowered with the skills they need to recognize and avoid hazards and to more effectively implement our Gilbane Cares safety philosophy.”

“We are constantly striving to ensure that we offer training and materials that meet our clients’ most pressing needs,” added Brian Tonry, ClickSafety executive vice president and general manager. “Improving safety within individual organizations and across the industry is certainly a priority for those with whom we work. We’re excited to roll out this course and believe it can help companies more easily and effectively establish safety cultures, ultimately helping keep workers safe.”
