NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Requirements
Find the Training You Need to Get Your SST Card
NYC Site Safety Training (SST) requirements apply to construction and demolition workers on New York City jobsites that have a Site Safety Plan in place. This includes workers and supervisors involved in any job that has a designated Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator, or Site Safety Manager.
The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requires initial hires to complete 40-62 hours of mandatory SST training to obtain their NYC SST card. After the initial training, individuals must complete refresher training before the five-year anniversary of when their card was issued. These requirements ensure that workers are trained and knowledgeable about site safety practices, contributing to a safer work environment in New York City construction sites.
