ClickSafety First to Launch OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course as part of Outreach Training Program
Walnut Creek, Cal., April 3, 2012 – ClickSafety, a leading provider of online construction safety training and part of Ascend Learning, today announced the availability of its OSHA 10-hour Construction course. This course is the only authorized 10-hour course currently available for purchase that meets the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) online training course requirements which became effective April 1, 2012.
Earlier this year, ClickSafety was selected by OSHA as an authorized online provider for the OSHA Outreach Training Program. The company is the only provider authorized to deliver nine online 10- and 30Hour courses as part of the Outreach Training Program.
“We work tirelessly to ensure we meet our customers’ needs and provide online training that meets OSHA requirements to educate, enable and encourage safety. We are very proud to be the only company to release the OSHA 10-hour construction course by the April 1 deadline,” said Brian Tonry, executive vice president and general manager of ClickSafety. “Consumers of the OSHA online courses need to be very astute when purchasing their OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour courses to ensure the provider has been recently OSHA-authorized. Otherwise, they may not receive a valid OSHA Department of Labor card.”
The key OSHA changes which began affecting online courses on April 1 include requiring participants to complete the OSHA 10-Hour course within 3 months from the start of the course. All courses will require user authentication at the beginning of the course and then randomly each hour until course completion. Test and quiz sections must provide feedback for any incorrect answers with the correct answer shown, detailed descriptions, and contextual explanation of the correct answer. All OSHA courses must also now be purchased through an OSHA-authorized training provider.
“We look forward to continuing to be a leader in providing high quality online safety training and releasing our other authorized courses in the coming months,” said Tonry.
OSHA authorized ClickSafety to deliver the 10-hour Construction, General Industry, California-specific and Road Builder course in both English and Spanish languages and 30-hour OSHA for Construction and General Industry. Providers were selected based on their organizational and staff experience, qualifications, course content and design, technology and administrative capabilities, among other stringent requirements.
