Construction sites can present a variety of emergency situations. While most injuries and sudden illnesses do not require lifesaving efforts, all workers and supervisors should know the basics of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). In New York City, Local Law 196 of 2017 (LL196) requires that workers and supervisors receive safety training if their sites designate a construction supervisor, site safety coordinator, or site safety manager. Once fully phased-in, this law mandates that workers at certain worksites receive 40 hours of safety training and supervisors receive 62 hours of safety training.

NYC SST-104 1-Hour First Aid and CPR is an awareness-level online course designed for construction workers and supervisors preparing to earn a Site Safety Training Card (SST). It highlights the importance of first aid and CPR, how to recognize and provide care for common worksite injuries, and preventative practices that can help promote a safe and healthy worksite. This is an awareness-level training only. Trainees will not become qualified to administer first aid or CPR from this training.

NOTICE: This course uses voice authentication. VA courses were developed in conjunction with the NYC Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) to address LL196 online course proctoring requirements. These voice-authenticated courses represent a best practice to ensure the identity of the student by prompting users to verify their voice at random intervals throughout the course. Users must have access to a mobile phone or landline while taking the course to successfully meet this requirement.

Upon completing all necessary training courses to satisfy NYC SST requirements, you will be eligible to receive an SST card. Please note that the SST card is not automatically included and must be obtained separately. To acquire your SST card, you will need to purchase the Site Safety Training (SST) Card course. This course will guide you through the complex process of applying for an SST card, ensuring you meet the requirements of New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 (LL 196). Get clear, step-by-step instructions that simplify the process and help you obtain your SST card with ease.

If you are purchasing this course as part of the 40-Hour Complete Worker or 62-Hour Complete Supervisor Safety Pack, the SST card is included.
