This course focuses specifically on supported scaffolds and covers most common types of scaffolds including rolling scaffolds, swing stage scaffolds, and suspended scaffolds, in addition to common problems associated with scaffolds. Additionally, course participants will receive information regarding federal OSHA regulations that apply to safe work sites and safety when working on scaffolds. Guidance used in the course is provided by organizations such as the American Nationals Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Scaffold and Falsework Industry Association (SFIA). Participants will also learn information on worker’s rights to report unsafe conduct or fraud while on the job.
NOTICE: This course is only applicable towards the NYC DOB Site Safety Training (SST) and cannot be applied towards the 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Safety Training – Erectors of Scaffold. NYC DOB Provider ID Number: 4T75
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive ClickSafety’s Certificate of Completion, indicating the 0.4 continuing education unit (CEU), as well as the four contact hours received from an IACET-accredited course provider.
Upon completing all necessary training courses to satisfy NYC SST requirements, you will be eligible to receive an SST card. Please note that the SST card is not automatically included and must be obtained separately. To acquire your SST card, you will need to purchase the Site Safety Training (SST) Card course. This course will guide you through the complex process of applying for an SST card, ensuring you meet the requirements of New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 (LL 196). This online safety course is designed based on the NYC Building Department’s NYC Local Law (LL) 196 of 2017, which requires four hours of Supported Scaffolding User Safety training for all individuals applying for a Site Safety Training Card.

The NYC SCA-212 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher (SST Only) course fulfills the four-hours of DOB-approved training mandated by the NYC Building Department’s NYC LL 196. Upon successful completion, participants will receive:
0.4 Continuing education unit (CEU) from an IACET-approved training provider
Certificate of completion
All course participants must complete the full course to receive CEU credits with a score of at least 70% at each knowledge checkpoint and fill out the course evaluation to receive his or her certificate of completion.
Students who partake in the NYC SCA-212 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher (SST Only) course will learn important principles required for supported scaffolding user safety as specified by the NYC Department of Buildings. Such topics include:
Identifying typical scaffolds used on construction sites and the major components
Recognizing dangers and risks associated with supported scaffolds
The general principles of fall protection
Principles of personal protective equipment and fall arrest systems
Safe work practices associated with supported scaffold use
Inspection methods of scaffold equipment and hardware
